How To Create A Black Light Using Your Phone’s Flash

Once again another DIY life hack you can easily do and try at home. This video shows you how to make your very own black light. So COOL! For those of us who have animals this can definitely come in handy.

Here is a list of things you can see with black light:

  • germs
  • tonic water (containing quinine)
  • some vitamins and drugs
  • chlorophyll
  • scorpions
  • people
  • toothpaste and tooth whiteners
  • antifreeze
  • fluorescent gems and minerals
  • body fluids
  • bank notes*
  • laundry detergent
  • banana spots
  • some toys
  • some plastics
  • white paper
  • some cosmetics
  • some animals, plants, and fungi (especially marine life)

*Counterfeit bills can be easily detected with a black light. Plastic security threads will appear under UV light in legitimate bills. The threads in each of the bills will glow in different colors depending on the denomination. For instance, a $5 bill will be blue, a $20 bill shows up green and a $100 note glows pink.
